The exclusive Pharmaceutical Medicine academy at MAST@Homestead is the only program in Miami Dade County public Schools that fully prepares students to enter the post-secondary academic realm of Pharmaceutical medicine and Pharmacology. Students in this program will gain a full understanding of the human body and its functions, and will learn to apply this knowledge to the study of disease processes and development of pharmacological interventions. Under the tutelage of their instructor, they will explore the pathophysiology of diseases, the organic conception of medicines and vaccinations, and the marketing and research required to distribute new innovations to consumers. After four years of in depth study, Pharmaceutical Medicine students will be given the opportunity to apply their learning to real world scenarios through their executive internships. Through these techniques, graduates will be prepared for the combination of rigorous academia and clinical experience required of them in the post-secondary medical arena.
